Our Story

For Grieving Daughters, was birthed because a community of motherless women needed a space where they felt seen, heard, understood and empowered.  Founder, Shai Arnold, who lost her mother at the ripe age of 10 didn’t know how greatly she’d been impacted until she became a mother herself.

Daughters need their mothers.  When that isn’t an option, they need their village.  For Grieving Daughters provides safe spaces for women to gather, heal and grow together.  We host a wide variety of groups, events, and programs that meet the evolving needs of daughters whose mothers have died.

For Grieving Daughters offers philanthropic support to grieving daughters who are pursuing higher education and training. We provide housing support for those in our Next Steps program who are preparing for homeownership and wealth building.  We offer mentorship services for daughters who are ages 12-17 that will provide them with the lessons, support and community that momma would have wanted.

Our goal is to partner with those who realize that pain can be the catalyst that awakens purpose.  When daughters are ready to go after their destiny, our team will be there– waiting to walk with them on their journey to Wholeness.

Our Mission

For Grieving Daughters exists to partner with women and girls who have lost their mother or maternal figure but are ready to embark on their journey through the stages of grief: Grieving, Healing, and Wholeness.  We curate and create safe spaces and programs for grieving daughters to heal, network, grow and pursue educational, financial, emotional and mental wellness and developmental success

Our Vision

  1. We envision an annual gathering of motherless daughters for an empowerment brunch.

  2. We envision a safe space for motherless daughters to gather and be encouraged by their community.

  3. We envision housing for motherless daughters ages 18-25 who are on their journey to home ownership and wealth building.

  4. We envision an endowment to continue the legacy of educational pursuits for motherless daughters.

  5. We envision For Grieving Daughters branches all across the USA.
